Veterinary Technician – Austin Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center
Austin Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center is seeking a skilled veterinary technician to help manage both emergent and critical patients during the evening and overnight hours. The emergency and critical care portion of the hospital will open in January 2015. This practice was founded by owners of Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (Houston, TX) and Mission Veterinary Specialists (San Antonio, TX) as well as Dr. Don Hulse, DACVS, DECVS and Dr. Lindsay Vaughn, DACVECC. The qualified candidate should be enthusiastic, eager to learn, and have excellent multi-tasking abilities. The candidate will work closely with veterinarians and other patient care personnel that provide excellent client service and the highest standard of emergent patient care. The applicant should have exemplary communication skills with both colleagues and clients. The applicant’s skill set should include (but not be limited to) intravenous catheter placement, venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, drug dose calculation, managing patients with infectious diseases, and managing critical hospitalized patients.
Candidates who are graduates of an AVMA approved Veterinary Technology Programs with LVT status are greatly desired. Must have at least 2 years of veterinary patient handling experienced, preferably with a veterinary specialty hospital or veterinary emergency hospital.

Animal Emergency Hospital of North Texas – Grapevine, Tx
The Animal Emergency Hospital of North Texas is searching for a
qualified technical director to join our team. We are an established
24-hour emergency hospital located in northwest DFW (Grapevine). The
building also houses other specialty practices including: internal
medicine, cardiology, surgery, ophthalmology, dermatology and physical
therapy. We strive to provide outstanding professional care to our
patients and to serve as a bridge between the referring veterinarians
in the area and the specialty care that is available.
Ability to interact positively and professionally with all staff
members as well as the other practices within the specialty center is
essential. Our ideal candidate will have a great attitude, be a team
player, possess excellent communication and technical skills, be a
licensed veterinary technician, and have at least 2 years experience
in emergency/critical care. Responsibilities include: supporting the
hospital’s mission and goals, technician scheduling, technician
training & management, providing performance evaluations, policy
development & enforcement, and other administrative functions.
